Columbus, Ohio (March 3, 2026) – Following the statewide announcement in September 2025 of an investment of up to $30 MM in a biomanufacturing workforce initiative, the Ohio Life Sciences Association and JobsOhio announced the selection of The New Albany International Business Park as the location for the newly named, state-of-the-art “Ohio Life Science Training Center.” The City of New Albany hosts a vibrant and diverse Health and Life Sciences industry cluster within the business park, including American Regent, Amgen, Hims & Hers, and Pharmavite as part of the heart of the Ohio Discovery Corridor. The investment will support life sciences employers across Ohio and strengthen the state’s biopharma manufacturing talent pipeline.

The life science industry employs 18,000 people in central Ohio and 64,000 across the state. This investment is intended to support Ohio’s capture of the $500 billion-plus biomanufacturing domestic investment pipeline and the industry’s commitment to growing 3,300 Ohio-based jobs over the past five years.

The training center represents a significant public-private partnership built to satisfy Ohio’s growing demand for skilled talent in biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing, while also making Ohio an attractive destination for companies expanding U.S.-based drug manufacturing. The facility will be a statewide resource and will anchor an eventual statewide network of training locations, with consistent content, utilizing universities, community colleges, and technical schools.

"The global competition for bioscience companies is intense because these companies create high-paying jobs. Our ability to continue to compete for these opportunities on the global stage requires us to act with urgency to deliver a skilled workforce. This new world-class training center sends a clear message about our priorities and ability to deliver. The ability to stack hands across the public and private sector is a competitive advantage that sets us apart – JobsOhio investing statewide, New Albany investing locally and industry engagement to ensure the training aligns with real opportunity." - Jason Hall, CEO of the Columbus Partnership

The statewide initiative represents a collective effort to align public and private partners to invest in the future of Ohio’s workforce ecosystem. As part of the initiative, the City of New Albany has stepped up to help support the generational opportunity with a $5 million investment over five years for the development and long-term success of the training center. This local investment complements JobsOhio’s $30 million investment to seed and scale the initiative.
