The Life Sciences Workforce Collaborative (LSWC) will be represented on the global stage this May at SynBioBeta 2026 Synthetic Biology Summit, one of the premier gatherings at the intersection of biology, technology, and innovation.

Maria Thacker Goethe will moderate a featured session, “Bio-Ready America: Advancing Bioliteracy to Power the U.S. Bioeconomy,” highlighting the critical role of workforce development and bioliteracy in maintaining U.S. leadership in biotechnology.

She will be joined by an esteemed panel of leaders, including:

  • Drew Endy, Hoover Institution Fellow, Stanford University

  • Stuart Sevier, President, IMI

  • Amy Jenkins, Senior Director, Strategy & Operations, AstraZeneca

Taking place May 4–7 in San Jose, the summit will convene more than 2,000 founders, investors, scientists, and industry leaders shaping the future of the bioeconomy. From AI-driven drug discovery and biomanufacturing to sustainable materials and next-generation therapeutics, SynBioBeta explores how programmable biology is transforming industries across health, food, energy, and beyond.
