The Maryland Department of Labor, Governor's Workforce Development Board, and Jobs for the Future (JFF) have published a new set of resources aimed at strengthening the life sciences talent pipeline in Maryland.

At the center of the release is Building Maryland's Life Sciences Talent Pipeline: Workforce Insights and Strategies for Inclusive Growth, a report grounded in labor market analysis, employer interviews, and worker focus groups conducted throughout 2025. The report takes stock of where Maryland's life sciences sector stands today and what it will take to build a more connected, inclusive, and responsive workforce system going forward. Key themes include the growing demand for mid-level technical talent, the need for stronger alignment between education and industry, and the importance of expanding career pathways beyond the Baltimore metro area.

Alongside the report, two practical career pathway maps offer a clear look at how workers can enter and advance in biotechnology and biomanufacturing, with salary ranges, education requirements, and recommended certifications at each stage.

Together, these resources lay the groundwork for Maryland's upcoming statewide life sciences sector partnership, launching in 2026.
